IIDA Member Benefits

We are hosting 2 events next week...

Monday, March 30 - 12:00 to 1:00 PM
Rob Holt with Shaw Carpets will be our guest speaker

Wednesday, April 1 - 4:00 to 5:00 PM
Justin Berger with Arizona Tile will be our guest speaker

Both are in the large conference room at the Library Square Campus.

All students are invited to come!  We will also be answering questions about joining IIDA and will have applications available.

IIDA Members have the benefit of amazing (and FREE) networking and portfolio review opportunities. Our chapter is involved in the Habitat for Humanity project and an upcoming project in April and May 2009 working with Architecture for Humanity to design a school in rural Uganda.  We are already registered and will start design meetings in April.  These can be incredible additions to your portfolio!

We hope to see you next week!!
If you have any questions please e-mail Julie Chahine at chahine10@comcast.net or Marcus Hamblin at marcushamblin@gmail.com.

Habitat For Humanity

The Members of IIDA at SLCC have been given the awesome opportunity to help build a Habitat for Humanity home for a family in Orem, Utah. (Click on the link below for an article about the Webb Family.)
IIDA members were given the specific opportunity to design the children's rooms.  With a limited budget, this has been a challenge, but one that has been met with great reward. It is always a fun experience when you are given an opportunity to do something you love, and even greater when you are doing it for someone in need.
Posted are a few photos of the beginnings of the house. More to come...

If you are interested in getting involved, e-mail Laurie Westburg at lauriewestberg@att.net or Marcus Hamblin at marcushamblin@gmail.com.
